Our friends (Principal Caleb and his wife Hope) from our sister school in Uganda will visit us on Friday April 28 to thank our students for the wonderful desks that were donated to their school last year. In celebration, we are suggesting that students wear the Ugandan colors of black, yellow and red on that day. We are also hoping that a donation of $1 can be made by each student that day to enable us to purchase art supplies for the Ugandan students this year.
Please be advised that the blue frozen slushie treat has been removed from our menu. Once the current stock has been sold, it will not be available. There are other similar options that children may choose to purchase as an alternative.
Effective immediately, SSA will no longer provide letters stating a child's address for use by Revenue Canada. Schools are under no obligation to provide this information. Parents/guardians are advised to contact their family doctor, dentist, church, etc. for this information. Thank you!
We are approaching the time of year when teachers may be organizing class trips for students. The board requires that a specified number of chaperones be in place in order for trips to take place. In order for parents to act as chaperones, they are required to have been approved through CCRSB's volunteer process. Volunteer packages are available from the main office and it is advisable to complete one now if you hope to chaperone in June. Also, if you have agreed to chaperone, thank you for making that commitment as canceling may result in a trip being canceled.
Students who leave school during the school day (for illness, appointments, etc.) are required to remain in the office until a parent or designate sign them out. That said, parents are asked to come into the school on such occasions. If someone who is not listed as a contact on the student's file is picking up the student, it is also important that parents either notify the school by phone or written notification. Thanks so much for helping us keep your children safe!
